TomTom reacts to Microsoft’s lawsuit with a countersuit

Microsoft sued TomTom last month for eight patent infringements. Most of the patents involved relate to vehicle navigation software.
Microsoft has responded to TomTom's countersuit with a statement from Horacio Gutierrez, the company's corporate vice president & deputy general counsel of IP & licensing, who said that Microsoft is reviewing the filing which was received last week, and remains committed to a licensing solution.
He added that Microsoft would, however, continue to press ahead with the complaints it initiated in court and with the International Trade Commission.
