PSA Peugeot Citroën signs partnership with P&TLuxembourg

The signed agreement involves P&TLuxembourg providing PSA Peugeot Citroën with:

  • A mobile telephone solution specially developed for the automotive telematics service
  • Coverage for this solution in 27 EU countries as well as EFTA countries (Switzerland, Norway and Iceland), including the related management components

The new equipment developed by PSA Peugeot Citroën separates the telematics function from the radio, navigation and personal phone functions, and includes an embedded SIM card, making it part of an Autonomous Telematics Box (ATB) fitted in vehicles.

This solution provides the customer with emergency and assistance services free of charge and without subscription.

Currently, these services are available from equipment that combines radio, navigation, personal phone and telematics functions, the latter requiring a SIM card.

This new equipment is PSA Peugeot Citroën's answer to the eventual standardisation of the European eCall system and the basis for the development of new telematics services, such as fleet management.

More than 700,000 Peugeot and Citroën vehicles sold since 2003 are currently equipped with the emergency call system, which has assisted almost 3,500 people in difficulty in the nine European countries where the service is currently available.
