NAVTEQ supplies map data for BMW’s next-gen nav system

The new BMW navigation system professional includes advanced features including 3D city and landmark models. The 3D city models incorporate building heights; 3D landmarks include monuments, buildings and other sites of interest. In addition, digital terrain models provide 3D elevation data with texture and colours for easy orientation.

BMW navigation system professional is also the first system to include Falk's GuidedTours, which was developed by NAVTEQ and Falk Marco Polo Interactive. Currently available for seven European countries (Austria, Belgium, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Switzerland and the UK) in five languages (English, German, French, Spanish and Italian), it includes predefined one- or two-day tours, each covering an average of fifteen POIs with comprehensive background information.

Available NAVTEQ map coverage for the BMW navigation system professional includes Western and Eastern Europe, the Middle East, South Africa and South Korea.
