Monster Plug-In Mercedes Most Powerful Production Model

Mercedes has unveiled its most powerful production car in the shape of the plug-in hybrid Mercedes-AMG GT 63 SE Performance.
This motorway monster claims a system output of 838bhp and a maximum system torque of more than 1,032ft-lbs, while claiming a fuel consumption of 22.3mpg (18.5mpg US) and weighted, combined CO2 emissions of 180 g/km. The four-door coupé is the brand’s first performance hybrid and at the same time the most powerful series-production model of the brand from the Affalterbach plant to date.
Its powertrain system consists of a 4.0‑liter V8 biturbo engine with a permanent synchronous electric motor, a high-performance battery developed by AMG and the fully variable AMG Performance 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive system. Claimed acceleration from a standstill to 62mph is just 2.9 seconds, while 124mph comes up in less than 10 seconds on the way to a top speed in excess of 196mph.
European order are now being taken with prices starting from £173,655 ($232,918) on the road, with customer deliveries starting in April.
