MG Reveals Powertrain Specs for New SUV

Chinese-owned British automobile brand MG is claiming a 163 mile range for its new electric SUV.

The MG ZS will employ a 44.5kWh battery pack together with a 105kW motor and be able to support rapid charging. The battery is liquid-cooled to reduce charging time and increase performance and range and, like most other BEVs, is located on the floor of the car to lower the centre of gravity, improving handling and freeing up cabin space.

Regenerative braking is also featured to further increase the range, with three modes available to suit driver preference, while there are also three driving modes to choose from. The car will be available from $26,719 for the first 1,000 customers, with deliveries beginning in September.
