Mercedes-Benz expands support & commitment of HD Radio technology

iBiquity Digital Corporation, developer of digital HD Radio^TM technology for AM and FM audio and data broadcasting, announced that Mercedes-Benz will extend the availability of HD Radio technology on its vehicles to a total of eleven models.

The German OEM will add six 2010 model year vehicles to the five that already offer the technology, including the CL-, CLS-, E-Coupe, S-, SL-, and SLK-Class models.

"The adoption of HD Radio technology in vehicles is on the rise and the expanded commitment from Mercedes-Benz demonstrates their recognition of consumer demand for this next-generation entertainment technology," said Jeff Jury, COO, of iBiquity Digital.

The digital audio system will be available as part of popular premium feature packages when the new vehicle are launched by late-summer.
