Mercedes A-class infotainment powered by Luxoft

Global IT service provider Luxoft Holding has partnered with automaker giant Daimler AG to develop an advanced software platform for the infotainment system installed in the latest Mercedes A-class cars, reports Paul Myles.
The cars’ infotainment operates with the Mercedes-Benz User Experience (MBUX) platform allowing greater interaction with both drivers and passengers. It’s claimed the technology connects MBUX to the underlying features in the infotainment system and enables the integration of AI and AR into the in-car experience.
Alwin Bakkenes, managing director of Luxoft Automotive, said: “The technology revolution in the automotive sector is changing how cars are built. We are very proud to have been Daimler’s partner since the inception of the MBUX concept by co-creating the UX technology platform that powers it and delivering the production software into the hardware of the Mercedes-Benz A-Class. Daimler is not only taking control of the software design but also how it is developed and how it is integrated into the car, resulting in a unique customer experience. By taking ownership of the UX software, Daimler can now respond quickly to market demand and keep the User Experience fresh and relevant.”
