Hyundai Plans AI Cabin Injury Monitoring

Hyundai is planning to use AI as a means to instantly assess personal injuries in vehicle to alert the appropriate emergency services.

The system it is developing in partnership with Israeli start-up MDGo employs AI algorithms and machine learning to measure the impact to a passengers in a vehicle in real time. The process claims to be able to determine the severity of the injuries and inform fire rescue, ambulance and helicopter responders and hospital authorities where appropriate.

The in-cabin technology, using an array of sensors and MDGo’s software, could “bring the worlds of health and automotive closer than ever” according to the Korean automaker.
