Hyundai claims Brainwave in Driver Health Monitoring

Hyundai’s auto supplier wing claims to have developed brainwave-measuring technology that could enhance in car health monitoring.
After three years of development, Hyundai Mobis says it has created ‘M.Brain’, which can
measure the driver’s heath condition on a real-time basis by detecting the brainwaves around the ears through earpiece sensors. The key is the software technology that analyzes and determines the data from the brainwaves.
The technology can also be interworked with a smartphone app and provide notification that the driver is losing attention. The accident prevention technology also provides alerts for different sensory organs, such as sight, from LEDs around the driver’s seat, touch, from a vibrating seat and hearing, from the headrest speaker among others. Hyundai Mobis also plans to apply various bio-healthcare technologies to public transportation starting with a pilot trail in Gyeonggi-do’s public buses.
