Gordon Murray’s T.50 Supercar To Have Highest-Revving V12

Former F1 designer Gordon Murray’s T.50 supercar will have the highest revving, lightest road-legal V12 ever produced.

The car, designed by Murray and his company, Gordon Murray Design, will have 641bhp and 332ft-lbs of torque, while it will weigh just 2160.53 pounds. The 4.0 liter V12 engine, manufactured by UK engine specialists Cosworth, meanwhile, will be capable of revving up to 12,100rpm – 1000rpm more than the 6.5 liter V12 in the Aston Martin Valkyrie. The engine will also be the lightest V12 ever made, 132lbs lighter than the V12 BMW engine found in Murray’s previous supercar, the McLaren F1.

Elsewhere, the car has a 48V starter motor, which can be used to add an extra 30bhp for up to three minutes, adding power to the car’s crankshaft from the motor.

The car, which will cost in excess of £2 million, will be fully unveiled in 2020, with manufacturing by Gordon Murray Automotive starting after that. Deliveries will then begin in January 2022, with every customer receiving their car before the end of that year.
