First Peek at Škoda Octavia vRS PHEV

Škoda has published a sneak peek of its popular Octaviaq vRS iV revealing a PHEV powertrain ahead of its global debut at next month’s 2020 Geneva Motor Show.

Performance comes from its electrified gasoline powertrain generating a system output of 242bhp and will benefit from lowered CO2 emissions and better fuel economy. It’s the first vRS to be electrified and clearly aimed at its sporting family niche audience that the model has always enjoyed.

The Czech manufacturer has released three official exterior design sketches showing the sporty range-topper for the fourth Octavia generation. Signature black vRS details emphasize the sports design language of the automaker’s best-seller, whose dimensions have grown slightly over those of its predecessor.

The design sketches reveal the car in coupé-style hatch and dynamic estate format. Design highlights include a black grille and a sports-inspired front apron with large air intakes and black detailing plus large alloy wheels, diffusers at the front and rear and spoilers on the saloon’s tailgate and the rear edge of the estate’s roof.
