America News: Airbiquity uses Qwest’s CyberCenters to launch VIAaq

In terms of a new agreement, Airbiquity is using the telecom and data communications infrastructure of Qwest Communications International’s CyberCenters in Seattle and Sterling (Virginia) to commercially launch its VIAaq™ solution.

VIAaq is a turnkey managed telematics and telemetry data service that provides scalable and feature-rich data connectivity between telematics service providers and a vehicle or PND for a relatively low cost of entry.

VIAaq delivers data using Airbiquity’s patented data over voice technology, as well as existing SMS and packet data transport mediums. By using VIAaq, automotive manufacturers and PND suppliers eliminate the operations and maintenance costs associated with hosting or managing their own data centre.

Qwest’s high availability co-location facilities enable VIAaq to provide a load-balanced and geographically redundant system to handle critical business operations.
