Aiways Leads Chinese BEV Assault on Geneva

Chinese carmaker Aiways is heading up the nation’s automotive assault on European markets launching its BEV at the 2020 Geneva Motor Show.
The car is the SUV-inspired U5 aimed at the business executive consumer and will be joined at the automaker’s stand by its BEV concept car U6ion as yet unseen. Aiways claims the role as the first Chinese start-up to bring an EV to Europe when sales of the U5 commence in April 2020.
Being production ready, visitors to the show can also drive the U5 for the first time, as part of the ‘GIMS Discovery’ experience. Participants will be given the opportunity to experience a 10-minute test drive of the U5 on an indoor circuit.
Alexander Klose, executive vice-president overseas operation at Aiways, said: “We are set to compete with the best, by creating a revolutionary new user experience thanks to unprecedented collaboration with partners.”
