Your Winning Ways with TU-Automotive

Everyone loves a winner, so it’s little surprise we’ve enjoyed a wealth of supportive responses to TU-Automotive winning the 2019 Folio: Eddie Award for Best B2B Website for Technology.

We’ve tried to give our audience of automakers and tier suppliers the sort of insights into how technology is disrupting what many thought had become a ‘mature’ industry. Telematics, connectivity, mobility, electrification and ADAS on the road to autonomous driving has changed all that. The automotive industry is now firmly at the cutting edge of exploring the plethora of innovations the digital world can bring to it.

That said, it’s important to keep in touch with our automotive roots. Exploring new approaches is to be welcomed but, at the same time, the industry has to handle the here-and-the-now as a solution provider for a consumer that requires a robustness of technology not seen in most other industries.

For example, some point to the automation already existing in aerospace but sometimes forget that there are far fewer planes in the sky than cars on the road. Automation, in some shape or form, will come to the road but we must be realistic and not experiment with people’s lives in an attempt to hurry along the technology – the investigation into Uber’s fatal crash in Phoenix should be warning enough of the need to put vehicle safety today ahead of some idealist dream for the future.

It’s our sincerest hope that our editorial content plays some part in providing, you, our audience with data and opinion that reflects the real picture, whether you like the look of that picture or not. That’s because we know you would not thank us for anything but the unvarnished truth as we see it through the lens of hard facts and expert opinion.

So, we hope you, our reader, continue to see TU-Automotive in the years to come as the go-to title for an indication of what really could be around the corner of the road ahead.
