Wavecom and Hong Kong-based Sunlink International Holdings have established Sunlink Wavecom, a strategic alliance to develop and support wireless m2m applications based on Wavecom’s OpenAT® Software suite and Wireless CPU® hardware.

Sunlink Wavecom (ownership 90.5% and 9.5% respectively) was formed with an initial investment of US$1 million to provide support, maintenance and application-design services specifically using Open AT® Software Suite and reference designs from Wavecom.

Sunlink Wavecom Ltd will be incorporated in Hong Kong with its operations located in Shenzhen, China.

The business’s initial focus will be on high-volume applications like fixed wireless, automotive and fleet management in the Asia-Pacific region, and the company expects to expand into other applications and regions over time.

Initially, Sunlink’s products will be based on Wavecom’s Q24 family of Wireless CPUs® and Wireless Microprocessor® technology. They will have full OpenAT® capabilities, and Wavecom will supply the baseband component.
