World News: Continental launches universal vehicle diagnosis system

Continental is expanding its aftermarket range through the addition of the SIDIS MB diagnosis system.

The system can examine more than 15,000 control units from well-known automotive manufacturers in more than 800 vehicle types to detect errors.

Continental’s new SIDIS MB system can identify errors in the engine management system or in the peripherals. Data exchange between the vehicle interface and the PC takes place via a Bluetooth interface. SIDIS MB is connected to the vehicle via either an onboard diagnosis cable or an optional adapter cable.

The DSI Plus diagnosis software supports English, French, German, Italian, Portuguese and Spanish, and includes detailed wiring diagrams, PIN allocations, data sheets, target values, service plans, and a customer and vehicle management module.

Data can also be recorded during a test drive and accessed later. This facilitates error diagnosis to a considerable degree. Ongoing updates ensure that the software stays up-to-date at all times.

Continental plans further expansion of the diagnosis system in the near future.
