VW Promises Leading Level ADAS in Caddy LCV

Volkswagen is promising market-leading driver assistance for its new compact LCV to make its world debut at the end of February.

The German automaker claims its new Caddy van will boast more ADAS than ever before seen in the urban delivery vehicle/family MPV class. It bills the vehicle as ‘always connected’ employing its own on-board internet access supplying real-time information on the go. In releasing the first official renderings of the vehicle, VW says it is designed to meet the twin demands of a commercial operator and also the family owner seeking a value-for-money spacious MPV.

The carmaker stresses that the vehicle has been rebuilt from the ground up with no screw left untouched. It will feature two wheelbases, both with a more stylized profile thanks to a roof line that slopes down slightly towards the back and the short wheelbase version made longer and the wheels larger. On the passenger-carrying models there is a panoramic glass roof claiming to be the largest in the segment.
