Two Power Boosted Alpines Added, at a Price

Renault’s sportscar sub-brand, Alpine, has launched two new versions of its A110 offering more power albeit with a large hike in forecourt price.
The A110 S and A110 GT now boast 300hp up from the original A110’s 252hp from its four-cylinder 1.8-liter turbocharged engine, paired with a Getrag seven-speed automatic gearbox with a dual wet clutch. They also enjoy a hike in torque up from 236ft-lbs to 250ft-lbs contributing to both claiming a 0-62mph sprint time of 4.2 seconds, 0.3 seconds quicker that the original, and a top speed of 170mph that all models share.
The S is the more track focused with pared back cabin features compared to the more road orientated GT. The original will still be marketed but will be the preferred option for many customers retailing at a UK price of £49,905 ($66,976) compared to £59,355 ($79,659) for the GT and £59,955 ($80,464) for the range-topping S.
Laurent Rossi, CEO, Alpine, said: “2021 is an historic year for Alpine: it ventured into Formula 1, won the Grand Prix in Hungary and pushed ahead with the Endurance program in the top category. This is exactly what the new A110 range is all about: it’s crisper, pushes performance up a notch and captures what we are aiming for in the motor sports arena.”
