Two More Hybrid Options Added by Jeep

Jeep has expanded its hybrid powertrain range in European markets with the addition of two new special edition models.
Leading the electrification charge will be the Renegade Upland Special Edition powered by 238bhp plug-in hybrid engine with 4×4 drivetrain. This vehicle integrates two electric motors and an 11.4 kWh battery pack with a 1.3-liter turbo-charged gasoline engine and six-speed automatic transmission. When in full-electric mode, it claims an ability to travel an average range of 31 miles. In addition, CO2 emissions are lower than 50g/km in hybrid mode.
Meanwhile, the Jeep e-Hybrid system is available in the Compass High Altitude Special Edition offering 128bhp and 177ft-lbs of torque, coupled with a new seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
Eric Laforge, head of Jeep Brand Europe, said: “The Jeep Renegade and Compass models are two of the Jeep SUVs that best express the unique brand values of Freedom, Adventure, Passion, and Authenticity. Both Upland and High-Altitude Special Editions are fully equipped to handle both smooth roads and the rockiest off-road terrain and allow customers to ‘Go Anywhere and Do Anything’.”
