Triangle Software acquires LandSonar traffic business

Founded in 2002, LandSonar was the first provider of GPS-probe-based historical / predictive traffic data in the US.
According to Triangle Software CEO Andre Gueziec, LandSonar's historic and predictive traffic data products complement the real-time flow and incident data Triangle receives from its partners and generates from a variety of public and private data sources.
The acquisition means LandSonar's traffic reporting customers will benefit from enhanced forecasting and advanced quality management features, as well as an expanded R&D and support infrastructure, new investment and product enhancements.
Triangle Software currently holds several patents for traffic information production, use and integration. LandSonar traffic's intellectual property, including pending patents, will extend Triangle's ability to deliver innovative traffic solutions to the market.
Beat the Traffic offers a solution for vehicle traffic reporting, featuring 3D animated maps, an advanced web and mobile solution, consistent on-air and on-line components, lower-third tickers and a unique traffic forecasting system.
Effective immediately, LandSonar Inc will change its name to SpeedGauge Inc, and will focus on commercial vehicle safety applications, including its flagship SpeedGauge service.
