TomTom brings LIVE Services to mid-range nav devices

This product enables LIVE Services to be used in multiple countries with no hidden costs or extra fees for drivers travelling abroad.

For the first time, the TomTom XL LIVE will bring LIVE Services, previously only available on the TomTom GO x40 LIVE series, to the mass market.

The TomTom XL LIVE has plug and play connectivity built in, and comes with:

• TomTom High Definition Traffic^TM – for detailed and up-to-date real-time traffic information en route, now available for the first time across the UK, Germany, France, Switzerland and the Netherlands

• TomTom's IQ Routes^TM – calculates the most efficient route for any particular moment, and continuously evaluates faster alternative routes

• TomTom Safety Alerts – including real-time safety camera reporting and sharing

• TomTom Fuel Prices: up-to-date fuel price information guides users to the cheapest fuel stations along routes or in their area.

• Online Local Search with Google – provides users access to millions of locations and delivers up to date search results.

• Maps of 42 European countries

Current TomTom GO x40 LIVE customers will receive a free automatic upgrade by end-2009, which will enable them to use their LIVE Services in all LIVE countries (UK, France, Germany, Switzerland and the Netherlands).
