Telenor Sweden patents eSIM for next-gen M2M solutions
The patent enables Telenor to accelerate the ongoing international rollout of its M2M-solutions.
The eSIM, developed by Telenor in co-operation with Strålfors, is smaller and more durable than previous SIM solutions, making it resistant to difficult weather conditions, varying temperatures and vibration.
Many M2M environments, such as fleet management, logistics and security, demand a high level of durability, hence the search for new solutions in this area.
Industry analysts, Berg Insight, recently named Telenor the most advanced mobile operator in the M2M sector and the dominant provider of wireless M2M connectivity.
