Telematics Update Webinar – Deployment opportunities for V2X in Europe with a focus on operational tests, strategies and solutions

The interactive webinar entitled ‘Deployment opportunities for V2X in Europe with a focus on operational test strategies and solutions’,hosted by Telematics Update, will be held on 14th November (Wednesday) 2pm-3pm CET and is now open to the entire V2X (vehicle to vehicle/infrastructure) community. Registration is open here: https://www3.gotomeeting.com/register/872887214. It will discuss technical innovation, regulations, business cases and the recent field operational tests that will lead to the deployment of V2X services.

Almost 5,000 people die every year from traffic accidents in just Germany. Vehicle 2 Vehicle (V2V) and vehicle to infrastructure (V2I) are offering safety systems that will help reduce these numbers. Research has found that V2V, V2I and more advanced versions of these systems can take control of a car to prevent an accident by applying brakes when the driver reacts too slowly to a warning. The development of these next gen ITS systems is growing fast and organically with support from the European government,  automotive manufacturers, Tier 1, road operators and other investing stakeholders.

These systems will not only offer safer driving experiences, but improve traffic management and mobility. Within Europe the transport sector has high levels of CO2 emissions and these systems will be configured to target avoidable fuel consumption to allow for cleaner and more energy-efficient mobility of goods and people.

To explore these developments in the V2X landscape, Telematics Update has organised a live free webinar entitled ‘Deployment opportunities for V2X in Europe with a focus on operational test strategies and solutions’.The 45 minute session includes live Q & A's and will be delivered by key industry figures including:

Markus Bauer, Integrated Vehicle Safety, BMW

Gérard Segarra, Engineering ITS Innovation Pilot, Renault SAS

The experts will discuss:

·         Asses how the automakers , suppliers and operators are combining their services to meet common safety standards to reach a pre- production phase

·         Get an update on pilot studies from Vienna and Helmond on how they are utilising dynamic infrastructure based warnings to offer traffic  data for improved traffic flow

·         Learn more on the safety Vs. mobility business cases between the OEMs and the Road operators. See how they will integrate their services  to ensure safe roads optimise traffic management

The webinar offers a chance to understand how some of the most successful ITS players are viewing the future development, innovation in technology, growth of the market and the move towards European deployment.

More than that, the opportunity to ask questions directly to industry thought-leaders for first-hand answers is here. The webinar can be joined for free at https://www3.gotomeeting.com/register/872887214Places are limited so Telematics Update has advised that participants register early to avoid disappointment.
