The awards dinner took place on the eve of the 10th annual Telematics Detroit 2010 Conference & Exhibition – the world's largest and most prestigious telematics conference which broke all previous records by being the most successful Telematics Detroit to date.

The entries were judged by a selection of independent consultants and industry experts, and a shortlist of the finalists in each category was announced in April.

BMW received tremendous recognition this year for winning three prestigious awards. In response to winning the awards, Fran Dance, BMW ConnectedDrive Services Manager USA said, "I am ever so grateful to [Telematics Update] for creating such a fine forum for this topic, now for 10 years in a row. It really is quite an accomplishment in itself and deserving of an award. I am also honoured by the awards BMW and I won Monday."
