Tele Atlas expands digital map coverage to India

The India map covers 5,463 sub-districts, 593 districts and 35 states and union territories (UTs), and includes more than 108,000 POIs.

The India map also includes detailed street level coverage for approximately 109,000 km in eight major cities: Ahmadabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi NCR (National Capital Region, including Faridabad, Gurgaon, Ghaziabad, Noida, Greater Noida, Bahadurgarh), Hyderabad-Secunderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai (including Mumbai, Thane, Kalyan and Navi Mumbai) and Pune).

Subsequent database products are planned to include additional key cities and rich POI content, as well as an extensive range of enhancement products such as 3D landmarks and detailed city maps.

The release of Tele Atlas maps for India follows the formation of the company's joint venture in India, Tele Atlas Kalyani India Pvt. Ltd., which was announced earlier this year.

Tele Atlas' products now deliver maps and dynamic content in more than 200 countries and territories around the world, including thirteen countries and territories in Asia-Pacific.
