Sliding Camshafts Star in Latest Cadillac V-Series

Cadillac debuts a sliding camshaft along with its latest turbo-charging technology in the performance V-Series sedan range.

Its CT4-V has a 2.7-liter four-cylinder DOHC 16v engine with a single dual-volute turbocharger, making 320bhp and 368ft-lbs of torque. The automaker claims its three-step sliding camshaft is unique in the market and says it helps to improve performance at all engine speeds.

Alongside the new car is its bigger sibling, the CT5-V powered by a 3.0-liter V6 DOHC 24v twin turbocharged engine making 350bhp and 398ft-lbs of torque. This uses low-inertia blowers to enhance power across the rev range with electronically-controlled wastegates. Both cars feature direct high-pressure fuel injection and 10-speed automatic transmissions.
