PSA Boosts Mobility Reach With TravelCar Take-Over

PSA Group is hoping to boost its potential as a mobility provider with the acquisition of a car rental and parking specialist.

Two years after its equity investment in the start-up, TravelCar, PSA has taken over the company which boasts 5,000 partner car parks and tens of thousands of cars available for rental. TravelCar claims it has attracted more than a million users in over 60 countries and services are available through a single digital platform.

In a statement, PSA says the move will allow TravelCar to expand and improve its services while it will bring agility and specialist to the group and benefit from economies of scale. Brigitte Courtehoux, senior vice-president, connected services and new mobility solutions at PSA said: “With a million users, TravelCar is a major success. Through this acquisition, we are stepping up our support for the company and demonstrating our commitment to developing an efficient, sustainable mobility services ecosystem.”
