Polestar 4 First to Feature Mobileye’s Chauffeur Driverless Tech

The new Polestar 4 BEV will be the automaker’s first production car to employ Mobileye’s Chauffeur autonomous driving technology hoping to provide next level ADAS capabilities.

The automaker says the system will be integrated by ECARX and potentially applied in future Polestar vehicles. The latest Polestar model, which has gone on sale in China today to be followed by global markets in 2024, is said to lay the foundation for this technology by featuring a Mobileye SuperVision-based ADAS from the start.

Polestar said that when rolled out over the coming years, Chauffeur is expected to offer eyes-off, point-to-point autonomous driving on highways, as well as eyes-on automated driving for other environments. Polestar 4, a coupé boasting the space and comfort of a SUV, is positioned between Polestar 2 and Polestar 3 in terms of size and price.

Thomas Ingenlath, Polestar CEO, said: “A collaboration with Mobileye can significantly push innovation in our Polestar 4 electric performance SUV coupé. We know that driving yourself is not always fun and exciting. This technology means our customers could enable autonomous driving when they want, making all future journeys enjoyable.”
