Polaris to Launch First Full-Size BEV UTV

Polaris says it will launch its first full-size utility task vehicle (UTV) with a fully electric powertrain next year.

A BEV version of its Ranger will be created in and industry-exclusive partnership with Zero Motorcycles as part the Polaris rEV’d up strategy. It says the Ranger will spearhead its long-term plan to accelerate its role in powersports electrification and that design and development efforts are currently underway in North America.

Mike Donoughe, senior vice-president and chief technical officer at Polaris, said: “This will be one of the most technically advanced off-road vehicles on the market and reinforces Polaris’ position as the innovation leader in powersports.” Steve Menneto, president of Polaris Off Road, added: “As our top-selling off-road vehicle brand, Ranger has continually set the benchmark as the hardest working, smoothest riding UTV, leading the market in rider-inspired innovation.”
