Peugeot’s CES Concept Launch Heralds Return to US Market?

Peugeot has published the first official detail images of its Inception Concept BEV ahead of its global debut at the Consumer Electronics Show 2023 in Las Vegas.
The automaker says the car features “a new formal language that exalts its feline and attractive attitude, its revolutionary interior design and its promise of unprecedented driving sensations, the Peugeot Inception Concept opens a new era based on the brand values, Allure, Emotion and Excellence”.
Four images were also accompanied by a 17-second video which, naturally, does little else in revealing any overall impression of the new concept. What is, perhaps, most interesting is that the famous French brand is launching in the USA leading many to suggest Stellantis may be considering returning the brand to the North American market for the first time since 1991.
Back then the brand stopped US production of its 405 model after suffering five years of declining sales in the teeth of strong competition in the mid-sector market between US and Japanese manufacturers. Now Stellantis may be hoping to use the Peugeot brand to ride the rising wave of BEV sales in some US states such as California.
