Peugeot Launches eTrekking Battery In-Frame Bikes
Peugeot may be a volume carmaker but it also has a rich history as a bicycle manufacturer and it’s moving with the times in the shape of a new range of electric cycles.
These feature an in-frame battery pack from Bosch that does not impinge on the bicycles’ classic looks whether in the road going range or the off-road trekking models. The six Trekking e-bikes are fitted with front suspension forks plus rear suspension on the more hard-core models while two road e-bikes complete the range, bringing the same next-gen technology to those wanting to tackle the most challenging road rides.
The range is fitted with the compact Bosch 500 Wh PowerTube battery installed in the frame to provide a low center of gravity aiding balance and agility. It can be removed for remote charging from the upper side of the down tube to protect it from rocks and gravel when riding off-road.
