Peugeot Electrifies SUV Lineup With PHEV Options

Peugeot is adding a low-emission PHEV variant to its 3008 SUV range, the French automaker has announced.
The two electric motors generate 98bhp, or 73kW, with the 1.4 liter gasoline engine supplying 197bhp of the total 295bhp, with this driving all four wheels. Unfortunately, Peugeot has declined to mention torque figures, but it has said the car accelerate 0-60mph in 5.9 seconds.
The 13.2kWh battery provides an electric-only range of 36 miles, with CO2 emissions overall of 29g/km based on the official WLTP test cycle. Charging will take less than 2 hours using a standard 7kW charger.
After the launch of the car, named the 3008 SUV GT Hybrid4, a front-wheel drive model will follow. This will generate 221bhp, combining 177bhp from the gasoline engine and a 108bhp from the 80kW electric motor, situated on the front axle.
