Nokia launches N-Gage and Nokia Maps services on Rogers Wireless' high-speed network

This services agreement between Nokia and Rogers is the first such agreement with a wireless carrier in North America.
Nokia Maps offers on-screen maps for more than 160 countries and millions of POIs, and enables users to view different perspectives, including satellite images, street maps, or a combination of the two.
Nokia N-Gage enables consumers to find, try and buy a range of made-for-mobile games from Nokia as well as third party publishers, and can connect with other users through the N-Gage Arena community.
"The Canadian telecom market is going through tremendous change and consumers are increasingly demanding advanced multimedia devices and services," said Richard White, general manager & head of country operations for Nokia Canada.
According to John Boynton, SVP & chief marketing officer at Rogers Wireless, the agreement with Nokia makes tremendous business sense because maps and gaming are two of the most in-demand applications for mobile devices.
The N-Gage and Nokia Maps services in Canada are initially available for use on the Nokia N95 8GB.
