Nokia acquires cellity

Nokia will acquire cellity's team of fourteen people to strengthen its competencies in the area of social networking. The team will become part of Nokia's Services unit.
cellity currently offers a solution to collect and securely store users' contacts in one place. This service will not transfer to Nokia, but will be discontinued, effect end-September.
According to Christof Hellmis, vice president the Nokia Services unit, the acquisition will enable Nokia to accelerate its service development in some of its core areas.
The agreement is subject to customary closing conditions, and is expected to close in the third quarter of 2009.
