New Powertrains for Latest SsangYong Tivoli

Korean automaker SsangYong has released the latest model of Tivoli, its popular compact SUV, with three new powertrains.

Two gasoline and a diesel motors will power the updated model including all-new 1.2-liter GDi-T and 1.5-liter GDi-T litre direct injection and turbo charged gasoline engines and an uprated 1.6-liter diesel engine compliant with the latest Euro 6D emission standards.

The smallest gasoline employs a three-cylinder engine married to a six-speed manual transmission. The motor claims a power output of 125bhp at 5,000rpm and 170ft-lbs of torque between 1,750 and 3,500rpm. Its 1.5-liter sibling boasts a maximum power output of 160bhp at 5,500rpm and peak torque of 206ft-lbs of torque between 1,500 to 4,000rpm with automatic transmission. Also, a double carbon accumulation prevention valve system has been applied to increase reliability.

SsangYong has uprated the 1.6-liter diesel engine option which now performs with a maximum output of 133bhp at 4,000rpm with a maximum torque of 238ft-lbs available between 1,500 and 2,500rpm with automatic transmission.

ADAS available on the new model includes front collision warning, lane departure warning, automatic emergency breaking, lane keeping assist, traffic sign recognition, front vehicle start alert, driver attention alert, emergency stop system and safety distance alert.
