NAVTEQ expands global business arrangement with Microsoft

This multi-year agreement also allows Microsoft the rights to use NAVTEQ content including Extended Listings, NAVTEQ TransportTM, NAVTEQ Discover CitiesTM and NAVTEQ VoiceTM.

Microsoft will use NAVTEQ data in its Internet and mapping software solutions.

NAVTEQ and Microsoft forged a relationship ten years ago when Microsoft selected NAVTEQ to supply map data of the US and Canada for its product applications. The relationship expanded to include NAVTEQ map data for Western Europe, Asia and Mexico.

Now, with this new agreement, Microsoft can provide global solutions to meet the needs of its international consumer base.

According to Jeff Mize, NAVTEQ's executive vice president of sales, NAVTEQ maps have been the foundation of Microsoft's cutting-edge routing solutions for years.
