MG To Launch BEV in UK

Even the iconic British small sportscar brand MG is going electric and will be launching its first BEV this coming autumn.

True, the UK designed cars are now under Chinese ownership but it indicates how carmakers are viewing zero emission vehicles as premium products. The automaker has announced the arrival of the MG ZS electric SUV with a full-sized boot and room for five passengers.

It is based on the existing gasoline powered MG ZS compact SUV and is likely to cost a good deal more than the existing car’s £12,495 ($16,412) starting price. Daniel Gregorious, head of sales and marketing at MG, said: “With the launch of our MG ZS electric SUV we’re delighted to be entering the electric car market at such an exciting time. With MG’s trademark value-for-money approach, we’re confident that we can help more and more new car buyers to go electric.”
