LA Gets to Grips With Genovation GXE

American EV manufacturer Genovation Cars will present its 800hp hypercar prototype model at the LA Auto Show.

Designed, developed and produced in the US, the Genovation GXE claims state-of-the-art batteries, inverters and electric twin-motors, producing more than 700 ft-lbs of torque and is expected to exceed 220mph. In normal driving operation, the car also claims to deliver a range of more than 175 miles on a full battery charge.

The carmaker already holds the Guinness Book of World Records for a street legal electric car with a speed of 190.48 mph in the standing mile and topped out at a record 209 mph top speed. It also boasts a low center of gravity and near 50/50 weight distribution. It comes equipped with an active programmable suspension, carbon ceramic Brembo brakes, carbon fiber wheels, a 10-speaker JBL stereo, a 10.4-inch custom high brightness touch screen, over the air updates and active bodywork aerodynamics. The GXE will be available with either a 7-speed manual, unique for an all-electric supercar, or an 8-speed paddle shift automatic transmission.

The Genovation GXE will be produced in a limited-edition run of 75 units, with initial customer deliveries scheduled in mid-2019. “We’re excited to continue the momentum we’ve established with our participation at the 2018 Los Angeles Auto Show,” said Andrew Saul, CEO. “The GXE has received a very positive response wherever we’ve shown the car and we expect that momentum to continue with our debut in LA. As one of the premier shows in the world, we anticipate our GXE will impress the audience of car enthusiasts coming from a truly international audience.”
