Kia Recalls UK Hybrids in Overheating Scare

Kia has recalled models of its Niro hybrid compact crossover sold in the UK market amid concerns of overheating issues.
While it says no fires have yet been reported, the company has issued the recall of 5,020 Kia Niro hybrid and plug-in hybrid models built between November 2016 and September 2017 that may be at risk of overheating in an electrical relay. Vehicles will be inspected at dealerships and relays replaced at no cost to customers following the carmaker’s internal monitoring program had identified a possible issue.
Chris Lear, director of after sales said: “The safety of our customers is our number one priority and we are taking this action to ensure their vehicles are not affected in any way.”
