Harman Becker launches concept car based on Intel® technology

The heart of this revolutionary car-infotainment system is Intel's new low-power consumption AtomTM processor Z520PT.

Without compromising functionality or performance, the processor cuts 25% off the power consumption of conventional models.

The car of the future will be permanently ‘online' and thus able to provide a range of services that can compete with any stationary application at home or in the office. One of the main reasons for this is the fact that all conventional multimedia formats and communications technologies demonstrate a high level of compatibility with Intel architecture.

The Internet access in the prototype is achieved with a 3G UMTS telephone or via Wi-Fi at a speed that was previously not possible in a vehicle.
