First Solar Assisted Delivery Vehicle Launched

A Swedish company has launched what is probably the first solar-assisted commercial delivery vehicle.

The company Clean Motion has officially launched the electric solar delivery vehicle, EVIG. The company also revealed a fleet calculator making it possible to calculate both cost and emissions from the fleet and compare it with conventional EVs.

Its EVIG is aimed at providing zero emission-free delivery vehicles for cities. It is able to carry various items from pallets and packages to post and food. The vehicle boasts 2.5 cubic meters of cargo space, a 2.5sqm solar roof for minimal dependence on charging infrastructure, low weight for better energy efficiency and longer range of a claimed 120 miles between charges.

The vehicle is available now to order on Clean Motion’s website with delivery Q1 2023. Prices start from €10,900 ($10,859).
