First BEV Škoda vRS Model Unveiled

Škoda has revealed its first BEV to wear its top performance badge in the shape of the Enyaq Coupé iV vRS.

This model range offers one battery size and three power variants. Power output starts at claimed 197bhp with the rear-wheel drive Enyaq Coupé iV 80, which is equipped with 82-kWh battery. With the other two models, the Enyaq Coupé iV 80x and Enyaq Coupé iV vRS, there’s a second motor on the front axle providing four-wheel drive. The Enyaq Coupé iV 80x has a claimed system output of 257bhp, while the top-of-the-range vRS model boasts as much as 290bhp and a maximum torque of 339ft-lbs.

This is the first-ever all-electric vRS features boosted dynamic driving performance, a host of black design details, and the full-length red reflector strip at the rear that is typical of the brand’s vRS models. It claims a 0-62mpg sprint time of 6.5 seconds mph and reaches a top speed of 111mph.

The new coupé claims a drag coefficient of 0.234 with an impact on the vehicle’s maximum range, which is claimed to be up to 339 miles in the WLTP cycle for the Enyaq Coupé iV 80. These new models produced at Škoda’s main plant in Mladá Boleslav, making them the only MEB-based Volkswagen Group vehicles in Europe to be built outside of Germany.

Thomas Schäfer, Škoda Auto CEO, said: “Our designers and engineers have once again succeeded in combining a high degree of functionality with an emotive design. The Enyaq Coupé iV perfectly combines emotion with efficiency, offering the Škoda-typical generous amounts of space, even in a particularly elegant body.”
