Facebook Set to Explode in the Car

Facebook Set to Explode in the Car

With fears that social networking will only lead to driver distraction, it may seem a shock that only 19% of those surveyed believe that social media should not be available whilst driving.
Zach Brand, Senior Product Manager from NPR agreed with majority. He added “you have to approach each digital platform on its own terms and the car is not an iPad or a computer. It will call for its own experiences and social media will have its own definition of what works in the car and what doesn’t”.

NPR, who has already developed an in-vehicle app, will be joining representatives from Facebook, Spotify and Livio Radio at the Content and Apps for Automotive USA Conference and Exhibition 2012 (December 4-5, San Diego, CA). They will reveal how to integrate apps into the car and how to deliver a suite of auto-centric content to captivate the automotive consumer.

This event will bring together industry executives and thought leaders so to share knowledge and create vital contacts from the automotive and apps community.  An independently researched program and a world renowned collection of more than 30 expert speakers will address key issues in the emerging new-era of content and apps for automotive.

Expert speakers from Mercedes-Benz, Facebook, KIA, Spotify, BMW, Toyota, Honda and General Motors, among others will discuss:

– Solutions to suit new cloud-based technologies and captivate a new realm of consumers
– How vehicle-centric apps can be used to create compelling auto-focussed offerings and transform CRM
– Assess the impact of HTML5 on IVI and in-vehicle content
