Europe News: Imtech acquires Peek Traffic for €80m

European technical services provider, Imtech, is to acquire intelligent traffic solutions provider, Peek Traffic Holdings, for €80 million in cash.
The acquisition is subject to approval from the German competition authority.
Imtech (Imtech Infra) holds a strong position in the infra-market in the Netherlands and Belgium. Imtech designs, delivers, and maintains hi-tech traffic centres and provides a broad package of solutions for traffic signalling systems. Imtech also collects and computerises traffic data, ensures safety and environmentally friendly (dynamic) lighting on roads and motorways, provides modern technology for bridges, tunnels and locks, and contributes to the expansion, improvement and safety of the railway network.
Imtech is not yet active in the infra-markets in the UK, Eastern Europe and Germany, thus the acquisition of Peek Traffic will strengthen Imtech’s position in Western Europe and secure the company’s entry into Eastern Europe.
Peek Traffic is a technical service provider and system integrator specialising in total mobility solutions in the fields of ITS, dynamic traffic management; traffic safety and enforcement; and public transport information systems.
Peek Traffic has fourteen offices in the UK and Ireland, two in the Netherlands, one in Belgium and Germany, plus subsidiaries in Poland and Croatia.
