Europe News: 69% of UK drivers risk fines and penalty points

According to a recent poll conducted by Motorpoint, 69% of UK drivers are still using hand-held phones, despite the increased penalties that became effective nearly two months ago.

Under the new law, drivers face a minimum fine of £60 and three penalty points if caught using a hand-held device while driving.

Commenting on the findings of the survey, Motorpoint’s managing director Gary Warren said that it’s not only the customers’ responsibility to ensure that they do not break the law, but it is also Motorpoint’s responsibility (as a vehicle dealer) to advise customers how to improve their own safety when buying a vehicle.
