EnGIS leverages HD Radio technology for nav and real-time traffic

EnGIS is releasing GoGo, its new navigation software that is available in standard and Real-3D mode.

Gogo navigation currently supports Clear Channel Radio's Total Traffic Network, and its features include text to speech (TTS), advanced lane guidance, intelligent searching, fuel cost calculator and speed warning.

The application immediately notifies the driver of accidents, congestion and any event affecting his route with easy to understand symbols and colour-coded traffic flow maps, and can re-route around problems on a planned route.

The application supports various languages including English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Korean, Japanese and Thai.

According to Martin Carr, vice president of business development for EnGIS Technologies, EnGIS will begin to integrate the NAVTEQ Traffic Services as a next step to offer its customers the choice of either the Clear Channel Total Traffic Service or the NAVTEQ Traffic Service.
