A study just published claims the global market for semi and fully autonomous vehicles will record a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 21% by 2030.

The report by analyst website ResearchAndMarkets.com says a growing focus by automakers on enhancing safety features plus increasing government support for developing driverless vehicles are the main reason anticipated growth in this area.

On top of this, the increased influence and involvement by tech giants like Google and Intel further encourage the adoption of the technology. It lists the major players in this field as BMW, General Motors, Toyota, Ford, Nissan, Volkswagen, Tesla, Volvo, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles and Hyundai.
