DeLorean Says it is Back with Gullwing BEV

DeLorean is back with new images of its upcoming BEV sports car boasting, naturally, gullwing doors.
The brand, made famous and infamous in equal measure by the movie Back to the Future and the corrupt activities of its founder John DeLorean, has now revealed images of its come-back model, the Alpha5. Now based in Humble, Texas, the company says the car’s launch edition will be debuting at the Pebble Beach Concours d’ Elegance in August.
So far, the automaker is claiming an estimated range of more than 300 miles between full charges, a battery of more than 100kWh and is electronically limited top speeds of 155 mph. Aerodynamic attributes claim a coefficient of drag of 0.23 while the powertrain boasts a 0-62mph sprint time of 2.99 seconds.
Troy Beetz, chief marketing officer of DeLorean, said: “The Alpha5 is a representation of the past 40 years of DeLorean. There was this enormous responsibility to make sure we honored the history of the DeLorean brand, but an even greater responsibility in curating its future…I think we did both with the Alpha5.”
