CJ Driscoll releases new MRM systems market report

Approximately 3.6 million GPS/wireless devices are currently used to manage fleet vehicles, trailers, construction equipment and mobile workers. The 2009 Mobile Resource Management Systems Market Study reveals that, by 2012, this market will expand to more than 6.5 million units, with annual hardware and service revenues reaching more than $2.5 billion.
While overall MRM market expansion in 2009 has slowed somewhat as a result of the weak economy, segments such as the local fleet tracking market continue to grow due to widespread recognition of the effectiveness of MRM solutions in increasing fleet productivity and reducing operating costs.
The 2009 Mobile Resource Management Systems Market Study provides in-depth information on each major MRM market segment, including vehicle-installed MRM solutions for local service and delivery fleets and long-haul trucking fleets.
It examines the emerging market for managing mobile workers with GPS-equipped cellular phones and other portable devices, and covers the markets for monitoring mobile assets, such as fleet trailers and heavy equipment.
The report also assesses the current market penetration of MRM systems and services and projects annual subscriber and revenue growth through 2012.
Detailed profiles are provided on more than 160 suppliers of MRM systems and services, including target markets, key features, installed base, and system pricing.
CJ Driscoll & Associates plans to conduct a new multi-client study in the second half of 2009, which will assess US consumer interest in LBS, telematics applications and vehicle navigation systems.
CJ Driscoll will be speaking at Telematics Update's Fleet & Asset Management USA 2009 conference, which takes place in Atlanta, Georgia on 18 – 19 November.
