Citroën Plans 100% Electric LCV Range

Citroën plans to electrify all its range of LCVs by 2021, starting with an electric version of the Dispatch.
There are two variants of the van, both having different battery sizes to accommodate different customer needs. The smaller electric version has a 50kWh battery, good for 124 miles according to the WLTP test cycle, while a 75kWh battery option is also available, achieving 186 miles on a single charge on the WLTP test cycle. The payload capacity remains similar to the combustion engined-Dispatch of up to 3086lbs, although the automaker has not quoted exact figures.
This comes as Citroën’s parent company, PSA Group, has agreed to merge with Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, in order to consolidate both companies’ electrification efforts going forward. The French auto manufacturer also plans to manufacture an electric Berlingo van in 2021, as part of its effort to provide a fully electric LCV range. The electric Dispatch will go on sale in 2020.
